Hurry up! The necklace worn by Sarah Jessica Parker goes up for auction

JewelleryWatchMarch 14, 2023

An exquisite necklace loaned to Hollywood actress Sarah Jessica Parker for a movie premiere in London is set to be auctioned off by Dreweatts later this month of March 2023. Parker, known for her iconic fashion sense, fell in love with the piece and wore it to the Gala Premiere of Did You Hear About the Morgans in 2009.

The opulent opal diamond and emerald necklace, crafted in the form of a coiled serpent, perfectly complemented her fashion-forward pink strapless cocktail dress. Sarah’s outfit was designed by the late fashion designer and stylist L’Wren Scott. The serpent necklace is an important piece going for auction, considering the jewellery itself and its emotional value. In the video above, you can examine the necklace in detail and see how Sarah Jessica Parker wore it.

The Serpent Necklace: A State-of-the-Art Piece of Jewellery

This necklace for auction is predominantly set with opals, a stone that beautifully reflects a spectrum of colours as it catches the light. It also features a pavé set old mine cut diamond head, graduated circular cabochon opal accents, emerald-set eyes, and a diamond tail tip. The graduated curved square panel links, which have diamond-set corners, are centred by a circular cabochon opal. The swirling, coiled design allows the necklace to sit elegantly on the neck, making it a truly unique and sophisticated piece.

The serpent motif symbolizes transformation and creative force, making this necklace a highly sought-after work of art. It is expected to fetch between £15,000 and £20,000 when it goes up for sale in Dreweatts’ Fine Jewellery, Silver Watches and Object of Vertu auction on March 22, 2023.

Commenting on the necklace, James Nicholson, Head of Dreweatts’ Jewellery department, said: “We are thrilled to offer such an iconic piece of jewellery, previously worn by an equally iconic actress who epitomizes style and is always one step ahead of fashion. It is exciting to see it available to the wider public, and we anticipate a lot of interest.”
