Jewellery trends to help you update your look for 2020 Bold and bright.

The smartest way to update your look for 2020 without having to get a whole new wardrobe is by finishing your outfits with the right accessories, like pieces from this year’s jewellery trends.
The jewellery trends that have made their way straight from the runways are real game-changers. In fact, these bold, bright and fun statement pieces will give nowness to your favourite outfits, meaning you’ll be able to wear them for much longer without looking like a past season.
So here’s the jewellery trends we’re after this year:
Pearls

During S/S 2020 Fashion Week, the classic pearls were everywhere, but they are far from traditional this year. Khaite presented fabulous headpieces with pearls falling down the head. Prabal Gurung made oversised earrings while Erdem mixed colourful crystals with pearls in the earrings and beautiful brooches.

Oversised Hoops

Hoop earrings have gotten really big. Proenza Schouler, Alexander McQueen and Oscar de la Renta have all sent their models down the runway wearing extra-large hoops. Not only are they big in size, but they are also wide and come in different materials.

Oversised links

The trend of chains with oversised links already around last year, and we saw the bold chains when Hermès launched its new fine Jewellery collection. But in 2020, you can take it up a notch and wear bigger and bolder ones. Whether you go for gold ones like Bottega Veneta and Oscar de la Renta or wear chunky and colourful chains in resin, they will for sure elevate your outfit.

Colour, colour, colour

Who says jewellery has to be gold or silver? Surely not the designers of Ports 1961 and Ulla Johnson who brought playful jewellery in mismatched colours! So don’t be shy; this year you have permission to go wild with colours.

Single earring

Wearing one single earring is one of the major jewellery trends this year. We saw them on the catwalk at Jacquemus, Tibi and Oscar de la Renta among many others. The single earring updates even the most basic look; it is fun and a bit edgy. And the best part of this trend is that you don’t even need to buy new earrings, just pick your favourite pair and leave one at home 😉
