Notorious was invited by Miu Miu and the jewellery designer Natascha von Abensperg und Traun to a cocktail to present the new summer collection at Miu Miu’s shop in Vienna’s luxurious golden quarter, or “Goldenes Quartier”, in the historic 1st District, the very heart of the Austrian capital.
In the stunning shop, all in light-blue Damask, we saw among the many beautiful S/S’19 pieces, Miu Miu’s new hobo bags that filled our hearts with joy and brought us so many memories.
The hobo bag, you know, that big and slouchy shoulder bag with a crescent shape in which we used to carry everything and a bit more in the noughties? Well, she’s back! And we couldn’t be happier because we were getting a bit tired of the small structured bags and the cute but totally unpractical micro-purses, and we missed those fantastic carry-all handbags with a chic bohemian feel.
Street style – Miu Miu back Hobo bag
And Miu Miu is not the only fashion label bringing the effortlessly chic hobo bags back; Paco Rabanne presented a brown leather model in the spring’19 collection, Proenza Schouler created a huge hobo in denim, and Kate Spade hobo bag for Pre-Fall’19 comes in beautiful caramel suede, just to name a few.
So now it’s time to rescue your old hobo bag from the back of your closet and, why not, spoil yourself with the season’s new models too.
