The best fashion documentaries to watch on the weekend

December 6, 2018

Forget about your usual series for a moment and dive into something fashion related. Netflix is expanding their documentary section by starting a new docuseries about the life of different visionaries from certain industries and Karl Lagerfeld is up first. 7 Days Out – how it is called – will follow the designer along the process of preparing Chanel´s Spring 2018 couture show.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait until December 21 to actually watch this, so check out these equally cool documentaries in the meantime:

The September Issue is a must see for everyone interested in fashion. The documentary film shows the hustle and bustle behind the production of the September issue of American Vogue starring Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington and lots of other relevant people in the indsutry. You get an insight on how the magazine is made and what it takes to actually keep such a big business running.

This Netflix documentary about fashion icon Iris Apfel is just as fun as Iris herself. She might be over 90 by now, but still works in fashion and inspires us with her witty personality. She talks about her life, style, work and makes us want to be exactly like her.

Dries is absolutely inspiring. The documentary shows the Belgian designer Dries van Noten from a very personal side and if you haven´t already loved him, you will for sure after watching this. It reveals how his collection is designed, created and presented and also highlights Dries´ critical, but very honest view on the fashion industry.

This film is taking us behind the scenes of Raf Simons´ first Dior show with all its preparations. Simons opens up about the pressure that a lot of designers are under nowadays. Dior and I also gives a very in-depth look on what creative directors and all the people who work for them are doing day by day.
