Celebration is the current Mot du Jour, and we’ve never looked forward to the party season as eagerly as this year. And the Fall 2021 Haute Couture collections reflect our desire to dress up and meet friends again. So, we’ll choose our next party looks inspired by the Couture runway shows.
Designers presented at Paris Couture Week Fall 2021 probably the most inspired and exciting looks we’ve seen in a while, with plenty of show-stopping party dresses. Certainly, the fashion week was a more than special celebration. Most luxury fashion houses had their first in-person show since the beginning of the pandemic. And besides the usual suspects like Dior and Chanel, there were some designers debuting in the ultra-selective world of Haute Couture.

Back to Haute Couture
Demna Gvasalia presented in silence his debut couture collection the same way the iconic Cristobal Balenciaga used to do. It was the first time since 1968 that the fashion house Balenciaga returned to haute couture. And the party looks with references from Cristóbal Balenciaga archives were as glam as the old couture shows.

Upcycled Couture
Ronald Van der Kemp proved with his fall 2021 collection that Haute Couture can walk hand-in-hand with sustainability. The Dutch designer created an inspired collection with fabulous looks made in recycled fabrics, textile leftovers, and denim.

Party looks for a Disco Queen
Of all couture shows during the fashion week, Azzaro was the one that had the most looks I’d love to wear to my next parties. The house’s creative director Olivier Theyskens payed homage to Loris Azzaro and his disco queen looks. Power shoulders, silver sequins, sparkling suits and dresses with a ‘70s vibe are all I need.

Fabulous party looks
And if you’re looking for party looks, Giambattista Valli presented at Couture Week fabulous dresses with bold silhouettes. His famous tulle dresses and draped chiffon gowns are fun and and whimsical, perfect to celebrate life.

When more is more
Schiaparelli fall/winter 2021/22 haute couture collection stays true to the house’s signature surreal glamour. Dresses come with huge volumes, jackets are embellished with embroideries, Lacroix-style oversized bijoux, and surrealist belts. More is more is the motto of Schiaparelli’s party looks, and we love it.
