Metallic Sheens

Outerwear for fall and winter this year is bold, both in material and colour. It’s also been making a splash in the overall look of the coats. One such example is metallic, shiny, and sheeny outerwear that has been gracing the runway. Puffers, trenches, and moto jackets—the metallic coat trend can be applied to any style.

Two-Tone and Color Blocking

Colour blocking is a classic technique in clothing styling, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere yet. We’re seeing tons of two-tone styles heading down the runway, and they’re sure to make their entrance to street style for the fall and winter.

Furry and Teddy

Back again when it comes to outerwear trends is the ever-lovable teddy coat. This time, our thick, furry favourite is joined by bolder coloured, fluffier, fuzzier varieties. These coats can be worn in an all-over bright colour or a fun patterned motif.

Quilted and Patchwork

Quilted and patchwork jackets have made their rounds for lighter jackets, and now they’re in a heavier coat style. You can expect to see ankle-length quilted puffers, patchwork printed crop jackets, and more this season.

Puffer Nation

Puffers are a street style favourite, which is great for those of us who live in freezing climates. Puffers are still very on-trend for fall/winter 2021 and can be seen in super cropped, super long, and middle length varieties. Apropos, we believe the super cropped puffer jacket will be the hottest Fall/Winter 2021 coat trends.

Unexpected Leather Tones

One of the most jaw-dropping trends to look out for when it comes to fall/winter coat styles is the addition of leather jackets in bold, bright, or even pastel hues. These colourful leather jackets, which can be worn as a blazer, belted trench, or mac coat style, are the perfect addition to a fall closet filled with neutrals. Pop one on for a quick glimpse of colour in a season that can otherwise look, and feel, grey.
