It’s time to dust off your fabulous hats and start thinking about the wedding season, my dear. Sebastian Kurz has just announced that we can get married again in Austria from the 1st July! And thanks to the COVID-19 vaccine, this will be the busiest year ever. With invitations for marriages that were postponed stacking up with the ones planned for this summer, you’d better check the fantastic guest looks and trends for 2021 to be ready for the post-pandemic wedding boom.

And because we’ve been far too long at home, it is time to dress up and let out your party animal. I don’t know about you, but I certainly intend to make up for lost time and wear the most glamorous looks at every wedding I’m a guest this summer! So, here’s our selection of wedding guest dresses and looks following the trends for Spring/Summer 2021.

Wedding guest in bold prints and bright colours

Weddings will be even more cheerful than usual in 2021, and to celebrate comme il faut, we have bright colours and bold-print trends that emerged from Milan Fashion Week. You can wear a strong colour dress like Zimmerman in red. Pair it with a gold necklace or statement earrings. As for florals, we chose a print with tropical flowers and romantic puff sleeves from Rhode Resort and 60s-style pink and green floral graphics from Marni.

Romantic pastel colours for summer weddings

Pastel colours are one of the main trends for spring/summer 2021. And as being the chic wedding guest you are, these romantic hues are just perfect. The three dresses we handpicked are so feminine and dreamy, they seem out of the pages of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Puffy sleeves and frills are trends we’ll keep seeing throughout 2021, making these spring dresses very wearable and not only for weddings.

Feather embellishments for the glamorous wedding guest

Even if you’re going to a smaller event, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t dress up to the nines. Feather embellished garments make you look as luxurious and glam as Old Hollywood divas. So, in 2021, after the Covid vaccine, step up the guest look game. Wear the feather embellishment trend to the many weddings ahead. If you choose to wear a sleeveless dress, make sure to take a shawl with you for the religious ceremony. It is de bon ton to cover one’s shoulders inside the church.

Party like it’s the ’80s

More than ever, weddings call for a true celebration, and nothing says party like the ’80s dress trend! So wedding guests should go for the whole shebang in 2021. In other words, wear puffy sleeves, frills, and voluminous silhouettes to dance the night away.

Why not a chic pantsuit?

One of my favourite looks was a yellow pantsuit paired with a silk scarf print jacket I wore to my sister’s wedding. Wide-leg pantsuits and Palazzo pyjamas can be extremely chic. Add a fabulous hat and jewellery to complete your glam wedding guest look.

Statement hats for a ’90s-style wedding guest

I don’t think I can see one more wedding guest wearing dainty fascinators. Enough with the less is more; 2021 asks for over-the-top statement hats again! This summer, I’ll make an entrance donning sculptural hats with feathers and flowers like those I used to wear in the ’90s. Don’t be shy, it’s time to have fun with fashionable oversized accessories.
