If there is one trend that doesn’t seem to be willing to fade away, it is the combo ankle boots and dresses. But will we regret this trend in the future?
The combination of ankle boots with dresses has been everywhere for a really long time now and fashionistas can’t get enough of it!
It is cool and extremely stylish when done right but be careful, it isn’t as easy as you may think to pull off this combination. And since booties with dresses are here to stay for some time, keep reading if you want to rock this look like a pro.
Although ankle-boots add instant coolness to any dress, not every ankle-boots work well with every type of dress and body shape. Pay attention to your body-type when putting together your look.
1- BLACK BOOTS & BLACK TIGHTS
Black booties with mini-skirts or short dresses can give the impression that they cut off your legs making you look shorter, so if you are petite, try wearing them with black or dark tights so that there isn’t too much contrast between your boots and your legs. This will elongate your legs. You can also choose booties with high heels to give you some extra height but only if you are going for a dressier look.
2- MAXI DRESS OR SKIRT
Neutral tones such as light brown, cognac or light grey, all work very well with dresses as they don’t create too much contrast because they are closer to the color of your skin.
3- MINI DRESS AND SKIRT
Mini-skirts with ankle boots are a very cool combo, especially for transition outfits- Winter to Spring. But if you want to hide those extra kilos (thank you very much Christmas/New Year’s vacations!) but still wear ankle boots, better combine cropped jeans with pointed-toe booties.
We love ankle boots with dresses because it brings a bit of edge and toughness to a more feminine look, and I don’t think we will ever regret this trend. When done right, this combination is the epitome of girl-power.
