Bimba y Lola, standing for the former owners dogs names, was first founded in 2005 by the Spanish-born sisters María and Uxía Domínguez, in Bilbao, Spain. The sisters however, had been born to a family of important Spanish names such as Adolfo Dominguez, the siblings uncle. The creators of the brand grew up in a family where they had had the chance to see how the fashion industry really worked, so after the got their education internationally, they decided to go for their dream project by launching what would later be named as Bimba & Lola.
Bimba y Lola, whose initial name was actually Moet & Mos, first store opened in Bilbao back in 2006. During that same year, they opened 41 other stores around Spain and one store in Portugal by 2007. By 2008 they were going fully international by opening their first store in Paris. After that it all went in crescendo. They now count with more than 220 stores in 14 different countries.
B & L known for its irreverent and ironic style, is chosen by many women around the world who stand for the same creativity and passion for fashion that the Spanish brand likes represent. Especially memorable for their iconic bags, the brand is now standing on the top ten list, of Spanish textile brands behind some of the biggest names such as the Inditex phenomenon.
